In a great final yesterday, Chivas Alabama, led by Don Mario Vera, were crowned champions for the first time. It’s worth noting that this was one of the major titles that had previously eluded them—the New Orleans Cup. 

The “World Cup” of 11-a-side amateur soccer will take place in the Space City, bringing together more than 32 teams in the main division, along with countless teams across other categories. Winning a Copa Mariachi means winning a full championship—one of the most prestigious tournaments nationally. It ranks among the top 5 cups across the USA, Mexico, Honduras, and this year, Guatemala.
